The Perfect Black Summer Dress!

Since things are starting to heat up, I decided to go summer dress shopping. I SWORE that I would not buy anything thing black... and I ended up with a black summer dress. HAHA!

I bought this from Forever 21 for only
$13.50. I loved how it was a simple dress with huge scrunched shoulders to give it an edge. Its made of mostly cotton and a little bit of spandex. This is great because its stretchy and form fitting while still remaining comfy and breezy.

If you don't like black... I found it in several other colors:
-Black and Grey Horizontal Stripes
-Black and White Horizontal Stripes
-Electric Blue
-Grey with Black Polka Dots

This dress is super fun because it is easy to accessorize! You can pair it with heels, flats, sandals... chunky rings, earrings, waist belts, layered necklaces... THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS!

This dress reminded me A LOT of something that you would see at American Apparel (I love their stuff but can't afford it) for
$36+! This dress from F21 is a cotton (95%) and spandex (5%) jersey knit dress... the same thing the American Apparel dresses are made of... So why pay the $22.50 more for practically the same thing!? Its definitely worth $13.50 out of my budget!

Below is a slide show of my dress

A Casual Summer Time Vintage Look!

Now that summer is upon us, I've been breaking out the breezy fabrics and shorts!

I was inspired to do this like by my favorite lady, Dita Von Teese! I really love her style and the way she presents herself. She embodies the classic style that we lack in this day and age. She always manages to keep the vintage style alive and vibrant.

However, generally a lot of the 1940's & 1950's looks are associated with high heel shoes. So most of the time I only see females wear the vintage look accompanies with a pair of peep toed heels. To be honest with you, I love HEELS! ...But I can't wear them all the time... they KILL my feet after a couple hours! Haha!

I came across this look and I fell in love with it! Its fun, flirty, and comfy, with a vintage flair.

So Dita's outfit inspired me to put together a comfy and cute vintage inspired outfit of my own. This look can be worn to school, a BBQ, or just out and about!

This look consists of:
-Nautical off the shoulder shirt $14.99 (5-7-9, now on sale for 9.99 buy one get one 50%)
-High waist shorts with gold anchor buttons $15.99 (Bloom)
-Casual red boat shoes $4 (Walmart)

The hair is optional. I did style it in loose curls and swept it to the side. Also my makeup is light and warm (my eyes still have a little bit of the "cat eyed" look). Feel free to accessorize with nautical style rings or dainty bracelets!

This is the full look! I'm using my Macbook webcam to take my pictures and I couldn't seem to a get one of my full body standing up . I love this look because of the SHOES. They are so comfy and still keep the vintage inspired look.

A kind of awkward picture of me BUT it shows the cute anchor on the shirt and the gold buttons on the shorts!

Me and my sweetheart Peaches!! He wanted to see what I was doing .

Let the summer begin!!

Quick and Simple 5 Minute Makeup!

FINALS WEEK IS ALMOST OVER.

I couldn't be any happier!!

Since most finals consist of studying all night and getting up really early, I did a makeup tutorial of a quick face you can put on.

Note: This is my first YouTube video... so I'm nervous! Also, some of the things are optional (eyebrow filler, lip gloss, eyelash curler). Those things are just what I usually do when I get ready.

Anyways, I have a final at 7:30 am tomorrow so I better get some rest. Here is my video. Enjoy!

Forever 21 Nail Polish Review: Wine

Forever 21 is a gold mine for cheap and chic clothes! It's my absolute favorite store!

So I was thrilled when I found out that F21 began selling their new cosmetics line, Love & Beauty in their stores. However, I was skeptical on the quality of their affordable beauty products...

While I was in the store I found a GORGEOUS color of red nail polish called "Wine". I have a HUGE obsession with red nail polish. I have bought many shades of nail polish looking for a classic red color. So when I stumbled upon this and found that it was only $2.80, I was thrilled!

I've been using it for several months now and I love it! It only takes two coats of polish to get a beautiful color (3 to get a richer tone). The polish dries quickly and leaves a slight glossy luster. Also, what is really cool about this polish is that after a day or two of wear, it gets darker. A slightly deeper color than the bottle. It doesn't chip easily and stays chip resistant longer than some of the more mainstream brands of polish.

So all in all I give this polish a 5/5! Definitely check it out.

Here are some pictures
:

In real life the polish on the nail is as rich as the color of the bottle

My tiny hands! Haha :)

Oh no! Buyers Remorse!

Buyers Remorse! You get it. I get it. We ALL get it.

There is nothing worse than coming from the store, looking at what you bought and saying "Why the hell did I buy this!?" I know the feeling, you purchase something saying you will use it...and you never do!

I have wasted so much $$ on countless items that I said I was going to use or wear! The sale items are what really get me! Ha . Learning to walk away from a bad purchase will prevent buyers remorse and here is how:

How bad do you need it?
I know its really cute and you can't live without it BUT how bad do you really need it? Consider this before you buy.

How often will you use it?
Decide how often you will use the item. For example: You see a cute summer dress for $45. You love it! But really, how often will you wear it? Will you be better off purchasing 3 cute tops for the price of that dress?

Can you afford to purchase it?
It is a bad idea to go out of your budget for something we can barley afford. For example: You only have $100 to last for the rest of the week but you want that $75 make up set you've been dying to buy. Is it worth eating Ramen for the rest of the week? (If you love Ramen then that's another story! )

Don't buy it if you need to convince yourself.
If you need to convince yourself to buy the item... then its probably not a good idea to do so. It will very likely end up in the back of your closet with the tags still on it.

What's the return policy?
Before you buy make sure you know the return policy of the item you're purchasing! Many stores have a return for exchange or store credit policy. Some even have no exchange or refund policies (especially for sale items!).

Follow these five steps and I can ensure you that it will help with potential buyers remorse! This really helped me cut down on the pile of unworn clothes in my closet!

Welcome!

Hi guys!

I created this blog because I realize how hard it is to find good deals and steals on a low budget! I was looking through a couple magazines under their "cheap finds" section and I realize that a lot of the stuff expensive! $25 for a cotton t-shirt!? Please!

Being a broke college girl (and I hate to admit... a cheapie), I search high and low for the best deals possible. I always get asked where I get certain things I'm wearing and when I tell them how much I bought it for, they can't believe it!

You don't have to fork over major cash to look fabulous. Just know where to look and how to find it. You find the most fabulous stuff in the oddest places!

So basically this is just a journal of my daily life and updates of some fabulous finds that I search out. I love interacting with new people so let me know about your cheap finds!
